Happy Birthday Clare

Clare celebrated her 13th Birthday on 29th June. I made her a word book card saying "Cloggz" and as you can see it has pictures of her from her younger years. I took a whole load more photos, but couldnt get them all on! I have also uploaded a picture of her on the day blowing out the 13 candles on her cake. Shame I am on a diet - I could only have a small piece, but it was beautiful, yum yum.

Blue Christmas xxx

Another Winter Wonderland Challenge, this time it is "Blue Christmas". I decided that I would use my wonderful "Daisy" stamp I got free on the front of Creativity magazine.
You can't really tell from the photo (gosh I hate how the photos make my cards look!, if anyone has any suggestions on how to do them justice please let me know!), but I have coloured her hat in two different shades of pearl blue. I have also stamped snowflakes all over the design - I just love snow!, and put a tag on the corner wishing everyone a Merry Christmas! I finally finished it off with a blue ribbon.
Thanks for looking xxx

Let It Snow!!!!!

We are really loving Winter Wonderland Challenges. This week Clare and I have enjoyed making this weeks challenge which was "Let It Snow". We love the snow, and plan to play in it early next year! My card has a deep blue background with a large half glittered snowflake on it, you cant really see the glitter, but believe me it is there!

Clare decided to go for the snowman effect. She has emobssed "Let it Snow" in red on a gold background and placed it in the middle of a beautiful lilac snowflake. She has decorated the whole card with glitter dots, which once again the picture does not do it justice.

Really hope you enjoy our cards as much as we enjoy making them. Can't wait to see what next week holds. Take care until then.

The First Noel

This weeks challenge on Winter Wonderland was A Christmas Carol. I love Carols, but prefer the modern day ones - are they really Carols? I don't know, but they all remind me of the magical time of year called Christmas. My card is called "The First Noel". My husband really wanted me to incorporate a photo of Noel Edmunds on it - he thought that would be really funny - I didn't!!!. The Noel is printed on a snowflake background and then set onto pale lilac card and then a red card with gold outline. The backing paper says Merry Christmas all over it and provides a good setting. I wrote "The First" in gold pen on shrink plastic and then shrunk it (obviously) and angled it on a slant at the top of the N.
I really am enjoying the Winter Wonderland Challenges, and hope to have all my Christmas Cards wrapped up by the time I have finished - and in plenty of time for the festive time itself.

Cloggz Tag

Clare has done her first challenge for Tuesday Taggers. This is a brilliant tag for New Beginnings welcoming a new puppy! The weather has been so lovely here in the Lake District, that Clare and I did some crafting in the garden. It makes such a nice change from being stuck in the kitchen on very little work surface! Long may this weather last!!!

Daring Card Makers - Mums the Word

I am so excited this is my first challenge card!!! It is for Daring Cardmakers, and the site was recommended to me by Jozza. I must thank Jozza very much for helping me put this card onto the daring cardmakers blog - and recommending that I try it out. She is a star, and has a fab website which I follow, and I suggest you take a look - it is FAB!!! Anyway, back to the card. I used papers from Funky Hand and hand made the embelishments (with a little help from word art).
You will notice that this is my third post of the day - I have been off work looking after my son who is off school at the moment, so been making the very most of my free time!! Great, why can't I just give up work and Blogg??? Oh yes, it doesn't pay!!!!!
Take care until next time.

Wordle

Wordle: cloggz and me

Discovered this fab website called wordle at www.wordle.net. You can enter your blogg into it and it creates loads of different word bubbles using words from your blogg. It is fantastic. I have printed out several versions - this is just one of them. Amazing, I highly recommend the site. Why don't you share your wordles with me?

Cheers.

Wow Wow Wow, here they finally are.....

Well, I have finally managed to get aroaund to taking more photos of our cards, and putting them somewhere on the computer where I can find them!!! Getting them where I can find them is one feat, but getting them onto this blogg is another, everything goes on back to front!!!! Oh well here we go.....

These are the flower fairy cards that got us into card making in the first place! They are from "Let's Make Cards" and they were great fun to make. We made loads of them, but these two are my personal favourites. Next .....

These two are done for different birthdays. The dart board was done by Clare, and you cant see it on the photo, but the darts are 3D! The girly card was done for my eldest son's "best friend" who was 14 years old.

We then decided to "GET FUNKY" with the wonderful Anice and Funky Hands dowload. We make these word books for fun, but did not embellish them too much, as we thought we might give them as a gift for other people to embelish and make them personal to themselves Here they are...

Finally - just so that we are up to date, here are the two Special 80 Birthday Cards we were asked to make.....

This was done by clare, using Patti Picklicious papers and Funky Hands numbers ...
This is my "80's" card. I used Funky Hands paper, and made a mini number book for the numbers. The 8 opens up to reveal ...
...a birthday wish.
Well that is it for now, sorry it is a long blog - just playing catch up!!
Take care and blog soon xxx

First two orders - Word must be getting around!!!!

Hi - really pleased, Cloggz and Me have had their first order (or two orders). Two 80 birthday cards - Clare is coming around this week (we need them done by the weekend) and we shall get photos on this blogg - its about time I did that! Been putting it off, because I am a little technophobic and the thought of trying to get photos on this thing is putting me off - I know it is probably really easy, but it is a bit of a learning curve for me!!! I have managed to get a photo of my baby Jemma - my beautiful Jack Russell who is now 8 months old and a real live wire. Thought I would try the same with some cards that I have taken photos of, but for the life of me I cannot find them on the computer! Why does everything have to be so complicated?

Why do weekends go so quickly - is it the alcohol????? Or just the fact that I am doing what I want to do instead of sitting at a desk and doing things other people want me to do????? Been dog walking and chillin watchin create and craft! Seem to be addicted to the programme, but as of yet have not ordered from it - I think that is a good idea myself!
Take care until later xxx

Getting used to Blogging

Well, I have been finding it hard getting used to how this blogging marlarky goes! Only just managed to get Photos on!!!!! So now I have learnt that I must take some photos of Cloggz and Me designs so that I can show you our work. Clare is coming over for the weekend, so we should manage to get something done then for you.

I am having to make my first own sympathy card, a lady in our village has just died, she was 97 and a very well respected member of the community. My mum was with her when she collapsed and I know she will miss her greatly. So with great respect this blogg is dedicated to Mrs Annie Maxwell.

First Taste

Well, this is our first blog as a team, we are having fun with creating different styles of cards, and building up our craft stash so we can produce some cards to be proud of. Clare (Cloggz) is the leader of the team at 12 and three quarters she has a style and design mind that I am only envious of. Me I am 42 and trying hard to keep up with her enthusiasm for craft and cooking. She is my niece and I am very proud.

We trawl the internet for ideas and I drag her around craft shops with me - though I think she likes it!!!!! Looking foward to posting our first attempts at card making, and looking forward to building a good rapport with other crafters out there. If you call by, why not say hello!

Unitil next time.
